How is academic writing different from...

Mr Chaedar gave us the article that he wrote in Jakarta Post, the title was “Teachers as researchers; is it possible in Indonesia?” He gave us the instruction to compare Academic Writing (his article) with Poems, Short Stories, Novels, Drama, and Narrative. Mr Chaedar told us that Academic Writing insisted of fact, research based, information, data, argument, observation, opinion, evidence, survey, conclusion, formal language, scientific, systematic, paragraphic, and personal experience.

Usually poem had stanza, meter, rhyme, diction, and figures of speech. There was included an emotion such as happyness and sadness. Short story and novel had a theme, character, plot, setting. Drama, a play on a stage included actor, audience, and property. That were all the things that differ an academic writing from literary form.
