MLA and APA referencing style


MLA is used for literature and humanities.

Books -> Last name, First name of author. Title of book. City where published: Name of Published, year published. Print.
Example: Bailey, Stephen. Academic Writing : A Handbook for International Student (2nd ed). New York, USA: Routledge, 2006. Print.

Web Pages -> Page name. "Title." Publisher, year of published. Web. Latest date that you access the page <link>.
Example: Cornell University Library. "Introduction to Research.”  Cornell University, 2009. Web. 19 June 2009 <http://www.library.cornell.edu/resrch/intro>.

APA is used for social science and research.            

Books -> Author, I. N. (Year). Title of book. Location: Publisher.
Example: Bailey, S. (2006). Academic Writing : A Handbook for International Student (2nd ed). New York, USA: Routledge.

Web Pages -> Author, A. (date). Title of document [Format description]. Retrieved from http://xxxxxxxxx
