Ms Susi gave us a piece of paper, our group got about
“Thesis”, and Ms Susi gave us a question “How did you wrote in highschool
compare to what you have/will do in your academic writing in college?”. That
paper told us “we must make a bold claim that you will go on to support with
evidence, every thesis is a promise, you’re saying “I promise you I will
convince you that X is true”,if something is self-evident you can’t convince someone, if everyone
agrees with something you can’t convince them”
Our group concluded, in highschool we learned about the
various type of text in general. How was the structure, the differences between
them. When we learned about academic writing, it wasn’t just about how to know
the text structure, we had to pay more attention to the selection of the word
and all of the statement or thesis that
we wrote must be able to prove by strong evidence.
Last, we knew that six features of Academic Writing were context, thesis, navigation, evidence, counter argument, and conclusion.
